Energy Efficiency
Bithenergy also provides services to improve energy efficiency and sustainability for existing infrastructure. These services include electrical hardware retrofitting, EV charging station installation, and energy efficient lighting installation.
Installments at Sandy Point State Park
Annapolis, Maryland
Completed in 2017, Sandy Point State Park received a series of upgrades and additions that will help reduce energy consumption by an estimated 45 percent. Following completion, Sandy Point is the first state park to host alternative energy projects of this size and scale. Projects include the addition of rooftop mounted solar panels to two buildings and four picnic pavilions, the addition of solar thermal technology to the park’s public bathhouses, energy efficient lighting to included LED Lights, and the replacement of all restroom hand dryers with more efficient models.
LED Lighting
SEAT PLEASANT, MARYLAND
Bithenergy brought light to the city of Seat Pleasant by replacing the standard 40 watt fluorescent bulbs with energy efficient LED lights in the lobby of City Hall. Bithenergy replaced 256 lights with new T-8 high efficiency LED 14 watt bulbs. As a part of the EmPOWER Maryland program, the Maryland Energy Administration awarded Seat Pleasant with an EmPOWER Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant to cover the cost of the project. This installment of LED lights helps the city become a more sustainable community as well as reduce their electricity cost.
LifeBridge Health EV Charging Stations
Baltimore, Maryland
Bithenergy recently installed four new electric vehicle charging stations for LifeBridge Health. Three were installed at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and one at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, Maryland. LifeBridge Health added the system to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels and reduce the carbon footprint of their company. Funded by a federal grant, the charging stations are part of the Chargepoint Network, which is the largest online network of independently owned charging stations operating in more than 14 countries. These level 2 Coulomb chargers can charge an average electric car between 6-8 hours. Bithenergy is excited to be working with both the Chargepoint network and LifeBridge Health.
Under Armour EV Charging Stations
Baltimore, Maryland
Bithenergy recently installed 2 new electric vehicle charging stations for Under Armour in Baltimore. The Coulomb EV charging system was installed on Under Armour’s property in Baltimore and has ignited an exciting business relationship between the two companies. Under Armour added the system as a way to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels and reduce the carbon footprint of their property. This system was chosen because it is a simple install that allows the property to quickly reduce fossil fuel usage.
These level 2 Coulomb EV chargers charge an average electric car between 6-8 hours. The project was paid for by the Chargepoint Network, so there was no cost for Under Armour. Under Armour is proud to be supporting green technology and Bithenergy is excited to be working with both the Chargepoint network and UA.
