On Wednesday, May 23, Bithenergy attended the Architecture, Construction, Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program scholarship breakfast at the Engineers Club of Baltimore. In it’s 15th year, the ACE Baltimore chapter is comprised of 12 schools in the Greater Baltimore area, with a goal to mentor high school students who are interesting in pursuing careers and continuing education in the fields of architecture, construction and engineering. The ACE program currently spans across 200 cities nationwide with 8,000 students participating annually, 1,000 of those students coming from Baltimore.
Students participated in a 15-week program where they worked to design, repurpose and create presentations for their ideas of the Towson Row, a 1.2 million-square-foot development in Baltimore. Students were asked to remodel the space that is proposed to house a Whole Foods grocery store.
At the reception Bithenergy’s CEO, Robert L. Wallace, spoke to students, their families, sponsors and board members about the importance of education and finding strong supportive mentors. Bithenergy’s COO and Baltimore’s ACE Vice President, Coretta Bennett, along with board members, presented nine students with scholarship awards.
