Preliminary Feasibility Study
A preliminary feasibility study will look at your existing lighting equipment, evaluate the environment, and assess your needs, using the specially-developed software The Light Tools Lite, which is a rules-based lighting survey tool installed in the team’s PDA. While it is not as thorough as an investment grade lighting survey, nor is it capable of calculating guaranteed savings, it can give you an initial, clear estimate of your facilities’ potential.
Investment-Grade Lighting Surveys
The initial survey tool is designed to produce accurate and detailed reports on a schedule tailored to the client’s needs before any decisions are made. After all, one needs to see what strategies would be most cost-effective before implementation. To this end, the BITHENERGY team uses their software program ‘The Light Tools Professional’ which is another portable rules-based analysis tool. The comprehensive process includes gathering any details specific to the customer’s work environment, customizing recommendation codes and/or any specialized data that is pertinent to the customer’s particular project. This provides for greater flexibility in detail and pinpoint accuracy than has been traditionally available with prior similar solutions.
Qualitative Report Features
Following completion of the Professional Lighting Survey, the customer will receive comprehensive reports on suggested improvements. Our professionals are dedicated to a close partnership with their customers, aiming for reporting transparency and invaluable suggestions as to how the existing lighting system can be improved upon. Developing Company-Wide Implementation Programs
Companies can often find it difficult to survey, specify, and coordinate a lighting efficiency strategy, especially larger corporations. To this end, BITHENERGY will create and provide easily-understood reports that will accurately portray the condition of a company’s lighting efficiency. Included will be suggested solutions for problems, any incentives offered by the company’s utility supplier, and, most importantly, how to meet the company’s financial budget while simultaneously implementing these strategies.
Life Cycle Cost Analysis & Equipment Specification
BITHENERGY strives to provide suggestions and equipment that will result in the lowest life cycle cost. The cost of a system includes three components:
- Initial cost
- Energy cost
- Maintenance/replacement cost
Most often, the system with the lowest initial cost are not always the most inexpensive system for the long-term future. For example, lower-cost systems typically tend to have shorter lives and use more energy, while often systems with higher initial costs tend to have longer, useful lives and waste less energy. When comparing the two systems with the Life Cycle Analysis tool, often less-expensive systems will appear less attractive when viewed in light of the long-term operating cost and useful life. BITHENERGY will use the Life Cycle analysis to determine the best system for your business to actualize savings that might otherwise be expended in parts/ labor and maintenance.
